Lago d' Orta Favorites

Favorite thing: These wooden sticks, parts of the pier have another application apart from being a place to tie the boats up to the shore. They are a landing spot for sea gulls, who adore to stand on the top of them! Pity I didn't catch any on act!

Favorite thing: There is not a lot of space for the beach, the water arrives to the walls very fast! But you can sit on the walls or stretch on the grass behind it just as well, if you don't want to stay at the place where the beach is broad or use the concrete one.

Favorite thing: The streets of Orta San Giulio are very narrow and tight, and very cheerfully coloured in bright colours like pink, red, orange, beige and yellow. Many houses would be decorated with flowers, which adds to the lively ambience.

Favorite thing: Most of the shore is private (lucky them!!!) All houses on the lakeside have their own access to the lake and it's forbidden to trespass. It was painful to watch them sitting in their beach beds comfortably, in their gardens, or on the shore, on their own private property! Sigh! And not to mention the boats they have!

Favorite thing: If you're arriving to the lake from the roads at the hills above you'll have a fantastic panoramic view. Here you can see the road you'll take and the beach beside where you'll arrive once you go down.

Favorite thing: Molo is another name for the pier, and sometimes they're used not only for the boats, but also people sunbathing as it's more comfortable than stones. But one of them would always be reserved for the ambulance boat.

Favorite thing: Although this picture is taken at the end of August, many trees at Orta lake have already began fading, changing colour and falling down, as if it's autumn already... it's beautiful to see all those leaves floating on the surface.

Favorite thing: Swans will graciously swim around the lake with very pompous attitude, especially in the dusk, as if they're tha lake patrol. They absolutely don't care of anything else and nothing distracts their attention. Swans on the lake at sunset are stereotype for cheesy romantic scenery, but there it's really beautiful and not sugarsweet at all!
