This is my favourite restaurant at Orta lake! it's not the most beautiful, but the most special, with very warm, domestic atmosphere, wonderful cuisine, lovely view on the lake, with balcony in flowers and truly delicious dishes! Take a home made dish that looks like lasagne but it's not, it's called CRESPELLE, it's soaked in cheese and pasta made of eggs, with some ham and baked in the oven in clay pots. Yummy!
This is a very beautiful restaurant on the way to Orta San Giulio, but it's super classy and fancy, and for snobs. It's very pricy and you need to have a reservation (otherwise it's impossible to eat there). The atmosphere is stiff, artificial... Pity, for the scenery is truly breathtaking!
At first glance nobody would pick this café restaurant, but it's very very nice actually! It's at the big parking of Orta San Giulio (only residents are allowed to go with cars inside the town, others must park before), it doesn't even have a name, it's written "SNACK BAR" or something... But inside it's very lovely! There are tables on the grass under the vine, the view on the lake is lovely and the staff is friendly and funny! You can have extremely great variety of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, more than 200 combinations and tastes! You'll get a menu for each! There are also standard drinks, as well as snacks and quick prepared dishes of pasta and meat.
This is a WONDERFUL restaurant near the camping site after Orta San Giulio. It's on the lakeside with amazing view and very romantic atmosphere, with candelabre and sunset... Menu is delicious, one of the best dishes I've ever had in Italian cuisine. Try tagliatelle con funghi porcini and especially home made pasta a la casa with tomato sauce, pesto, shrimps and vongole shells. YUMMY!!!! But above all, do not skip slices of octopus with special spices as antipasto, it's the best I have ever had!!!
This is a tea & chocolate bar, they serve the greatest variety of delicious tea and chocolate, do not miss! It's in the downtown of Orta San Giulio, you'll pass by it in the main street.
