They were created by Captain Neil McEacharn, who wanted to recreate a specimen of english gardens to remind his home country, Scotland.
The works lasted from 1931, when the Captain bought the villa, until 1940.
He found and bought rare seeds and plants from the five continents, creating therefore an incomparable botanical treasure.

From April to October, the gardens are open to the public from 8.30 to 18.30 every day. The entrance fee is 8 €.

    Pallanza - Madonna di Campagna

by lichinga Written Aug 18, 2003

Beautiful example of a romanic church complex out of the ancient city walls. The church itself has been termintaed in the XVI century, but its construction dates began 400 hundreds year earlier.

You may find Madonna di Campagna on the back road connecting Intra to Pallanza.
