Festivals in Piemonte

by ant1606

Not really a restaurant tip here but rather a suggestion to try and visit local festivals, named "Sagre" in Italian. Most of these occur once a year on a fixed date associated to the typical local food or produce. The origin of such events dates back a few centuries, even millennia ago, therefore next to being a "living museum" preserving the local traditions of a certain area, smalltown or village.Food is generally inexpensive and served at stands or inside a temporary canopy or awning. Always a great experience!List of "Sagre" of Piemonte(Serch criteria by month or by province)

ristorante bellastoria: Caluso

by call_me_rhia

A nice friendly restaurant in caluso - which serves both pizza and more regular meals. the chef is from liguria, so the best specialities he cooks are from his home area. trenette al pesto... definitely one of the best pesto i've ever eaten. the others in the party say that the seafood pasta was delicious too. and for dessert: nutella pizza!
