Rail road is fast and safe
Susa is on the Paris-Roma railroad and thus can be easily reached both from France and from Italy. Local trains connect Chambéry, Saint Jean de Maurienne, Modane (France) to Susa and Turin. I am not sure that the highspeed trains have a stop in Susa. I will check that.
Stay on the Highway !
If you drive from France by the Mont Cenis pass, the road leads directly into Susa.
If you drive from France by the Mont Genèvre pass, the road leads directly into Susa.
If you drive from France by the Frejus tunnel, you will have to go out of the autostrada at "Susa Nord" (caution, there is no "Susa South" !)
If you drive from Milan, pay attention ! On the Turin "tanganziale" you will see road signs for Susa and for "Passo Cenisio" (Mont Cenis pass). Do not follow, that would lead you on the busy S25, the regular road. To stay on the autostrada (A32), follow the sign "Traforo Frejus" (Frejus tunnel). Later on, when you will see a road sign for "Bussoleno, Passo Cenisio", do not follow neither, that would again send you on the S25 for 8km. Wait until you see the road sign "Susa Nord"
