Characteristics are the caves and the graves etrusche dug in the tufo, some of which as wine cellars are used for the maintenance and seasoning of the wines.
Pitigliano produces one of the more appreciated Italian white wines that it is imposed for quality: the "Bianco di Pitigliano”, among the first wines to be recognized DOC.
