It is the italian for siesta or nap. It is a must in summer, but not only in that season. We use to sleep in the afternoon (let's say between 14.30 to 15.30.
As somebody says: At 14 it is too late to start anything and too early to finish something.
And I agree!
Do not even try to set a meeting at that time, no way! Especially in summer it is too hot!

A picture of people having pennichella will come.

An Eastern Catholic Apsidial Altar in S. Nicola

Probably from the guilt arising from the theft of St. Nick's relics (which may have also helped the schism} a worship area in the Apse of the church (N. aisle) is set aside for pilgrims and others from the East. There is an altar with a beautiful chest covered with enamels and a screen with many icons in that location.

A sign of fair measure

Upon the West Front wall of the Basilica of S. Nicola is entered into the stone a thick line. Its length was the reference for cloth merchants (and others). The Church thus validated fair trade. (I hope tou can see the line as well as the authenticating cross nearby.)

Although i noticed english are not widely spoken,i found the people to be friendly and helpful. On the other hand they drive like crazy(well,i come from Greece so this wasn't very unfamiliar to me). There aren't many traffic lights and drivers pass whenever they want but even if they were, this didn't make a great difference.Even in the narrow streets of the old Bari, they drive like in the rallies!
The picture depicts the Piccini theater,in the new town of Bari.
