If you get lured by the old town's beauty at POLGNANO A MARE don't even contemplate the 'bright' idea of renting an apartment there. If you do, you are in for a nasty surprise. The town clock's bell strikes the hour every 15 minutes, even at night. It reaches the apogee at 00:45 - 12+3 strokes (... una cosa pazzesca!!!). And it seems no one will ever dare to change this inhuman 'sacred' tradition.
