An old abbey will wait you with its shadows and white walls.
After some hours of climbing up the mountain in the search of wild orchids the possibility to rest in the shadow of abbey forest was a nice moment.

take train or car to Foggia - thats the best way how to get to Gargano. From Foggia you can continue to any town mentioned above by bus
bus; I don't recommend hitch-hike: once I tried it, I walked from Foggia to Manfredonia cca.40-50km by highway... bare feet in sneakers....

The more to south you travel in Italy the greater troubles you have with communication. Usually, young people speak foreign languages(eng,ger,fra), but matured... On the other hand, italian isn't too difficult and some basic phrases can be really helpful
