Il cantico dei cantici - Otranto
The only negative food experience I had in Puglia. Well, I usually spot tourist trap restaurants from miles away and give them a wide berth, but when we where in Otranto, my wife was very hungry and insisted she had to eat instantly. From the start, I had a bad feeling about this restaurant. We read the menu and wanted to order, but no one came. After roughly 15 minutes, an old, chain-smoking hag from a table nearby rose and took our order (I had mistaken her for a guest). We ordered Lasagne di Pesce - sounded good on the menu, but tasted like fast food from the microwave oven - very low quality. To add insult to injury, it was pretty expensive. Do not go there - there are so much good restaurants in Puglia. Give no tip. Or just don`t go.
