Ristorante Il Mulino Di Orlando Giuseppina: Sciatelli

by jefffilms

You'll find mostly locals at this spot up the hill and away from the Piazza Duomo. The atmosphere is nice, but nothing fancy. The staff is nice and the chef came out to see how things were.Reasonable prices too. I had the home made sciatelli with seafood in a tomato sauce. It was very good, one of the best meals that I've had in Italy. This is one of the pastas that is known in Amalfi.

Trattoria ZaZa: A good meal for a reasonable price

by CandiceHalee

We ate here on a recomendation, and had a wonderful meal. Zaza has an outdoor patio as well as a gorgeous interior. We had to eat inside as the patio was full (a good sign). The waiter was able to help us make some good choices, including the wine. The prices weren't bad at all, we had eaten a cheaper restaurants, but the quality wasn't nearly as good. This is an excellent place for a good meal without breaking the bank. I had the raviolo with walnut sauce and my husband had the noodles with wild boar sauce, a local specialty. Both were excellent and we both could have eaten another helping easily!

La Tagliata: Local Favorite

by woodipar01

High above Positano, in the village of Montepertuso is a fantastic restaurant that does defy description. When we asked the concierce at the hotel to book the La Tagliata a big smile came over his face - he said that this was a favorite local restaurant, with big portions, family style. This was the universal reaction whenever we mentioned where we were dining that evening. We took a taxi to the restaurant (we understood that in high season they will pick you in Positano in a van) Down a flight of old stone steps, we came to a large wooden door. The door opened into a long stone building which was an ancient barn with long trestle tables. The room was filled with locals, and a great atmosphere. The son of the owner greeted us at the door and took us to a table with views over the sea and down into Positano. He then arrived back with a pitcher of red wine, some water and our antipasto --...

Pizzeria La Torre, Pisa: A delicious Italian pizza restaurant

by hopang

Pizzeria La Torre is located along the southtern side of Piazza del Duomo just opposite the Duomo. It serves all types of superb and delicious Italian Pizzas. Contrary to many tourists believe that the restaurants nearer to the Leaning Tower of Pisa must be rather expensive. The price of Italian pizza in the restaurant is inexpensive and certainly affordable! However the restaurant is always packed with customers as this is the nearest restaurant in the historic cnetre of Pisa. They also have a bar counter which serves delicious ice creams in various flavours located on the eastern end of the restaurant. Italian pizzas such as Margaretha is very popular in the restaurant.

Gelateria Patagonia, Verona: An excellent ice cream parlour

by hopang

Gelateria Patagonia is a superb ice cream parlour located at Via Mazzini in the historic centre of Verona. Delicious and mouth-watering ice creams of different flavours are in great demand in the city of Verona especially during the warm summer months. We understand that the ice cream parlour is owned by the South Americans as the name Pantagonia suggests! The parlour is so beautifully and colourfully decorated with posters and paintings from South America especially on its walls and ceilings that it looks more like an art gallery. They also deal in various kinds of dessert crepes as advertised on the board at the entrance. Please flip through our photographs above to see this lovely ice cream parlour and its decorations! Chocolate, cherry and vanilla ice cream sounds perfect. Sample the various dessert and original crepes which are also highly recommended.

Osteria I Brincello: Fabulous Food in Florence

by ReetSLP

I Brincello was recommended to us by our host at Hotel Aramis. As it was just a couple doors down from the hotel, we gave it a try for dinner and I am so glad we did! It was the best food we had in Florence and probably the most fun restaurant atmosphere we found in Italy. From the minute we sat down, the waiter (possibly owner??) and one of the chefs came and chatted with us. They gave us some recommendations which were excellent. We all shared bruschetta and wine and I had the gnocci Sorrentino which was delicious. Even better than my gnocci, though, was my friend's spicey spaghetti (it had an Italian name, but I can't remember it). It was so flavorful, but not overwhelmingly spicey. The waiter and chef were both very fun and friendly. When I asked for the bill, I accidentily said "Il cante" and immediately corrected myself. The waiter proceeded to sing the words "il canto" ("the...

Verdemare-Sorrento: Best pasta in Italy

by ReetSLP

Verdemare was recommended to us by one of the front desk people at Hotel Desiree for having great food at reasonable prices. I can't thank him enough for the recommendation. This is the only restaurant we ate at twice in Italy. As it's name would suggest, it seemed to specialize in seafood, but that wasn't the only thing on the menu. I can't even describe to you how good the food was here! Both nights I had the ravioli in broth soup to start. I don't know what made it so special, but it was delicious. On our first night I had scialatielli alla Siciliana, which was a fresh pasta in an eggplant, tomato and mozzarella sauce. Everyone agreed it was the winning dish of the night. I had a baked chicken breast the second night and it was also very good-very juicy with a light crisp outside. Ravioli in broth soup and scialatielli all Siciliana.

Ristorante La Fayette, Chianciano Terme: Great Chef's Appetizer

by hopang

Ristorante La Fayette is located at Grand Hotel Boston, just beside Grand Hotel Terme where we were staying. These two hotels are two different entities by themselves and under separate management. We had our dinner nightly at the restaurant during our four night stay in Chianciano Terme. The set menu is not the same every night. Even the Chef's Appetizer is not the same every night! The food is considered good and delicious and the services are impeccable. We had really enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant especially the impressive Chef's Appetizer which really gave you lots of appetite. The following are the set dinner menu for Tuesday night:-1) Chef's Appetizer buffet - eat as much as you want (photo 1)2) Spelt soup (photo 2)3) Cannelloni pasta Tuscany style (photo 3)4) Roast pork loin with French fries (photo 4)5) Dessert (photo 5)

Ristorante Novecento, Rovereto: Great Italian cuisine

by hopang

Ristorante Novecento is located at Hotel Rovereto just across the road from Hotel Leon D'oro where we were staying. It is situated approximately 200 metres from the Central Railway Station in the heart of Rovereto. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with impressive lighting. The restaurant is comparatively large and has seating capacity for at least 100 diners. The restaurant's services are impeccable it has to be said. The following were the set dinner menu (3 courses) in Italian which we ordered:-1) Pennette all'amatriciana (photo 2)2) Faraona al forno/Polenta - Polenta (photo 3)3) Semifreddo della casa con salsa al cioccolato (photo 4)

Awesome atmosphere! You can sit indoors where the decor is really nice.. brick walls, helmuts in all the colors of the palio, interesting art. There is also outside seating. Not a tourist trap. Really good authentic food. We went back several times. The cheese platter with fig and pear preserves was fabulous. We had pasta with wild boar ragu with nice glass of chiati- YUMMY!
