Stop in at Capovalle. It is right behind the monument of the fallen soldiers in the main piazza. You will notice the big sign above the door. Have a good bowl of pasta fagioli...it will really warm you up on a cold day, or a good piece of steak.

Pasta fagioli is the best!
Head over to Piazza Liberta, next to Michelina's Food Market (just a couple of doors down from Massimo Bar. Walk up the little cobblestone hill (it is a small hill, I promise, but wear good shoes because those rocks get slippery) You will see Fernando Trattoria on the right hand side as you walk up the little hill. It is cozy! The owners, cook, and waitress are very friendly. They welcome you there and will take good care of you! The simple, square tables with their white table cloths fill the room. It gets crowded at times, but not overly crowded. Try to get there at 6:30pm or 7pm...before the locals get there. After 8pm, it gets a little busier, but do not worry, you will be comfortable. If you really enjoy the quiet, go there on a Wednesday or Thursday, rather than the weekend. All traditional dishes are served, such as lamb, steak, brocolli rabe, a delicious salad, and other times they serve sausage. If you want to enjoy appetizers, this is the best place to go....you will eat like a king and queen and the prices are good. Their appetizers are filling...mushrooms, fried pizza dough, prosciutto, sausage, several types of cheeses, roasted peppers. Definately go there!!

Try the roasted lamb!
