This little restaurant is about a half mile from San Polo on a paved road. Most of the staff speak English and all are very friendly.
There are two sections, one a pizza/bar section and the other a family restaurant. There is also a very nice screened porch when the weather permits.
If you go once, they remember you for the rest of the trip so you feel like a regular. It makes it more fun. The food is typical Italian, seasonal, fresh and with excellent pasta. If you go during hunting season as we did, you will have fresh game on the menu.
On chilly nights there is a fire in the fireplace. It's always crowded so you know it's got to be good! Unless you eat early, call for reservations.
Favorite Dish: I think my hands-down favorite was the wild boar served on pasta. It had a richer taste than pork but wasn't overwhelming. I had it fixed several different ways during the week and loved all of them.
We never did try the pizza since everything else was too tempting, but the ones we saw looked great.
You can get gelato for dessert if you want. The restaurant made a special dessert every day and those were so pretty we couldn't resist.
