During a week stay in Tuscany in June 2010, the closest village to our villa was San Sano. The good news was that San Sano was reputed to have a great restaurant - La Grotta della Rana. We headed there once drizzly day for lunch and were not disappointed.

We were seated upstairs in the bright dining room - we were the first diners there, but the room soon filled up. We settled in for a four-course lunch - starting with Antipasti, which our one year old loved, as did we.

Favorite Dish: We shared a couple of pasta dishes, and had some very rich and delicious Wild Boar, which again the one year old loved. We pushed on through dessert - a decent chocolate tart and a Pannacotta, which finished off the meal nicely.

    Really enjoyable lunch.
