Alghero is not especially well suited for partying all night and tripping the light fantastic, but is well served by the Italian and Mediterranean cafe culture.
This "Grey Kangaroo" is a live music venue with waiter service on the pavement cafe. The evening's act is also performing outdoors.
So , accordingly to whether or not they sound any good, you can choose to take a seat or not! Some good and some not so good acts different nights!

Miques did Miralle is in the Centro Storico, a great place to stop and watch the stunning sunsets over the promontory beyond the castellated bastions.
Table service outdoors as you sit, great for a predinner drink and within a stone's throw of literally a dozen restaurants.

At the risk of sounding in my 80's, the perfect end to a day in Alghero is a wonderful meal in one of the many restaurants followed by a few Sambuce and espressos in conjunction with people watching into the wee small hours. Piazza Sullis is the ideal place. Tourists and locals alike enjoy the night air and staring is actively encouraged!

We went on a friday night when there was live music. The place was busy and there was a good young band playing a mix of mainly English chart music, but some Italian songs. Outside of the main tourist season many places close but this still rocks.
Full of locals (mix of the old goers and the alternative youth)
They can't mix drinks to save their life (don't expect fancy cocktails) but stick to the beer and you'll have a blast!

Beautiful locals and some cracking house tunes. There are some bigger clubs around apparently but this one seemed quite popular and had a nice indoor/outdoor grotto feel about it.

Diva is a cafe with seats indoors and outdoors, waitress service indoors and outdoors, very central on Via Roma at #40 in the Centro Storico, looking onto a cobbled square Pizza Municipio
