Tuerredda Beach

Taking the panoramic road towards Teulada, 3 km away from Chia, you will find Tuerredda Beach. It is situated between Capo Malfatano and Capo Spartivento. As soon as you get there you will admire the fantastic view of the emerald sea until to the ancient Spanish watch tower and the splendid sanding dunes.
Tuerredda is considered one of the most beatiful beaches in Sardinia (see my Tuerredda travelogue).

Myself at Cala Cipolla

Cala Cipolla beach is situated in Domus de Maria, near the promontory of Capo Spartivento. A lighthouse dominates the beach. The cove is bordered by pinetrees and junipers. From the promontory can be see an amazing view: the gorgeous white beaches, the ponds, the promontories among Chia, the South Coast with Capo Spartivento, and in the West side Capo Teulada. This coastline is not very extended but it is beautiful with its crystal clear waters and white beaches. The cove is also surrounded by granitic cliffs. The shallowness of the water let children play on the shore peacefully. It is an ideal place for surfing and scuba diving.

Chia is not just sea! Its forest of "Is Cannoneris" in Domus de Maria is a trekking paradise too. The forest has numerous footpaths and routes, some also accessible to mountain bikes or off road vehicles. They are protected by Forest Authority Stations, and often have functional rest and picnic areas for the visiting tourists, and all the forests have strategically placed signposts and didactic information posters.

The forest areas are often sliced by watercourses or enlivened by cool springs and falls that create their variegated sceneries.

One of these is Calamixi, a funny and not too tough route that brings you down at the bottom of a vertical gorge, in the middle of uncontaminated and wild nature.
