Follow Via Capo D' Orso around till you come to the Capo D' Orso Park. There is a nature trail that leads to the top where the bear stands looking out to sea. It is a beautiful nature park, and it is a comfortable hike to the top. Stand under the bear's belly and get your picture taken. Stand under the bear's head and see the magnificent panoramic view that the bear 'sees' You will be able to see Palau and Isola Maddalena. There are also some old miltary ruins visible from the path. There is no charge to enter the park, so it is great way to spend an hour or so without having to spend any money.
Be sure to visit Capo D'Orso (Cave of the Bear). This is a rock wind-eroded over time to form the shape of a bear. If you follow the signs out of Palau, you can easily make it there (keep your eyes open so you don't miss any signs). The drive is scenic itself and the rock is easily reached by a paved walkway. You must NOT miss this!!! The views are spectacular and on a clear day, you can see all the way to Bonifacio.
