Everyday you can take a boat from Milazzo Port to the Eolian Islands of Lipari, Vulcano, Stromboli and Panarea. It takes about one hour to Lipari, where you can visit the beautiful town, church and typical Sicilian alleys. Sit down in one of the nice trattorias and have an Espresso or one of the delicious "Granitas", an icecream-like softdrink, made of almonds, coffee, vanilla, chocolate and other delicious forbidden pleasures.
Visit the church by the harbour, where you can light a candle or two for your beloved ones; stroll up to Lipari`s castle, overlooking the harbour and its activities.Savor the serenity and quiet after a strenuous trip.

There are lots of agencies offering excursions from Lipari to the rest of the Eolian Islands.
We did the Panarea-Stromboli tour with "Da Massimo" agency. A little disappointing because we didn't have any person guiding us and had to listen to the explanations from other group's guide in French. Also, we weren't able to see tour's supposed highltight, "La Sciara di Fuoco" in Stromboli, as it was cloudy and the volcano was not very active those days.
So I guess you can get a ferry by yourself and do more or less the same things the excursion offers.
A very good idea is to hire a boat with driver for several hours. We did from 10:00 am to 15:00 pm and for 8 people it was 150 €. We went all the way round Lipari and stop in Vulcano for 3 hours. There you can lay on the beach (sandy), rent a quad, go shopping, etc.

On the Piazza at Marina Corta overlooking all the local action, Al Pescadore was good enough for us to return for a second night's dining experience. The attention by the staff was outstanding with service by multilingual staff who remembered us from the previous visit.
Mains were about 15 Euro ; Salads 3-5 Euro ; wine by the glass 10 euro & bottles a range of prices. Entree and main with bottle of Sicilian white 65 euro for two people.
Favorite Dish: Although there were other choices available we had to eat sea food in a Seafood Restaurant. We tried sea bass, sword fish, calamari, raw sea food platter. All very good eating and very well presented. Restaurant full of punters obviously enjoying the food by 10pm on both nights and with romantic outlook over the water - hard to beat.

A great people watching spot on via Garibaldi. Perfect panini with a vast range of fillings and a wide range of Italian wines by the glass or bottle. Seek Gilberto's advice on wine selection. Outstanding service with a smile.
Favorite Dish: Antipasta misto of regional produce to accompany a red wine ....Nero d'Avola from the slopes of Mt Etna for example.....perfetto
