Avoid counting your money out in the streets

Avoid counting your money out in the streets because there is a high risk that you wil be robbed.
Hold your bags tide on you, and don't leave zips open. It is as if you invite someone to put his hand in and get your belongings.
Avoid walking in remote streets alone in the evening.

    Restaurants to be avoided

Foro Umberto I goes along the sea, eastward from the port to Via Marine. It is a beautiful way, at sunset shadows and fresco are inviting for a walk. Both Foro Umberto and Via Marine are plenty of small restaurants with tables in the open. They look nice and even naïve. Remember that they may not be so nice as they look. Abusing of their wonderful position some of them tend to serve rubbish-food, such as surimi, pretending it is fresh fish. Moreover they use to overcharge the bill. I tried two: one is Trattoria Il Cantastorie in Via Marine (where I paid 30 Euro for a dish of sea-urchins), the other one is a restaurant just at the beginning of Via Marine, I don't remember the name. I quarrelled a lot, then I paid 20 Euro for nothing and I went elsewhere for a sandwich. They are real tourists trap!

Unique Suggestions: Pay the bill ASKING FOR A FISCAL RECEIPT (so, at least they will pay taxes) and LEAVE with no eating. That's what I did. No way or result to quarrel with them, just a loss of time and, more important, an increasing of frustration!

Fun Alternatives: You better check a restaurant in the very next Marina Square. There are some and all good.

The little men that sell illegally copied music cds on a trolley thing

Unique Suggestions: it's not much of 'trap' but basically you can get a top chart cd album for 5 euros( if you're local) if they realise you're a tourist they might try different!

Fun Alternatives: try your best palermitano! and if you give him a twenty note tell him or he might tell you it was a fiver
