Sciacca's Piazza di Scandaliato, a spacious and shaded seaside promenade, offers a spectacular view of the sea. It is and it also has many trees to provide shade on those torrid Sicilian summer afternoons. Many of the town's pubs, restaurants and shops are located here or nearby.
At evening it is fully crowded and you can find a lot of young people walking around, just looking for a girl- or boy-friend :-)

We were walking around the port when the fishing boats came in and people started bidding on the catch. I was too shy to get too close to this heavily male activity, but my boyfriend said they just used hand gestures--no talking.
