To travel by bus from Siracusa take the AST Number 26 to Citta Giardino.
The bus stops at the rear of Auchan store:
What to buy: I find this a good place to do the grocery shopping on hot days as it is cooler inside than outside.
This is a small shop and work place in the Via Cavour. The owner is very friendly but doesn't speak English. We bought a lovely square dish with red and gold colours. There are also more traditional products, like tiles and the usual tourist stuff. On the left side of the shop is the overcrowded workspace (or rather, lack of workspace) with the oven. Lovely shop. Must visit.

If you are looking for that special tasty gift to take home or a glass of something special to remind you of Siracusa you will do well to try this small shop on the edge of Siracusa market. It was incredibly busy when we stopped by. They had a wonderful range of cheeses and dried meats along with jars of specialist Pesto sauces, olive oils, chocolates and all sorts of delicious things.
I don't think it was particularly cheap but for that special present it's worth looking into.
The photo shows some smoked cheeses on display at the front of the shop.
