As we go there over easter we get the possibility to see the traditional easter procession in Taormina on good friday evening.
Women wearing black dresses carrying candles and girls wearing white dresses lead it. Then the men com carrying religious symbols.
The procession starts at one end of the Village and goes through the whole village to the Duomo. During the passing of the procession all the lights are switched off wich creats a special athmosphere.
As i am not catholic i don't exacly know all the background behind this tradition (of course i know the easter story in the bible).
