There are tons of little hill side towns, towers, abbeys etc, in this region, all with multiple well marked hiking trails. You need a car to get to most of the area, but then you can just pull over and walk. We found a beautiful park and trail NW of Torreglia near the town of Rovolon.

The Benedictine abbey of Praglia lies at the foot of the Euganean Hills, 12 Km from Padua, along the ancient road leading to Este. Its name derives from Pratalea: a place of meadows.
Currently inhabited from the same order of the Benedictines who founded it in the 1080 and that rebuilt it in the 1400, the monastery contains numerous and interesting paintings and one burlap attributed to the Veronese. The Benedictine monks that still live there should be about fifty(and so are the biggest community in Italy)The Abbazia di Praglia is moreover center of an very important activity for the recovery and the restoration of ancient and damaged books. It's possible to visit three cloisters (the Botanic, the Rustic, and the Pensile) and then there are the Refectory, which is famous for the carving masterwork (tables and benches with scenes of moral and theological meaning).
Is possible to spend inside a period of prayers and silcence. It's open both for men and women.Just write to foresteria@praglia.it to check if they have place.
