The serene alpine village if Brennero / Brenner ( villages and cities in the Trentino Alto Adige region of Italy have both an Italian and a German name ) is located directly on the Austrian border, adjacent to Brenner mountain pass, and immediately south of the Brenner region of Tirol. The green mountain valley, the pristine stream, and the mountain foothills that the village is built on, help make Brennero the beautiful and unforgetable village that it is. Sorry for the Sun glare ruining the photo but unfortunately I only had a few minutes there.
The red roofed church campanile ( bell tower ) is typical of those in the Alto Adige region mountain country. The roofs were made high and steeply pitched to blend with the mountain peaks surrounding them. Four gables surround the base of the main roof. The chalet style houses are nearly identical to those across the Austrian border. German is spoken almost exclusively in this part of Italy, even by the train conductors. The residents also prefer Austrian food and beer.
A few kilometers south of Brennero is the beautiful old world city of Vipiteno / Starzung.
