 desert_princess Says:  It is so strange ,the moment you cross the border ,the church towers are so different from the Austrian ones. They are more like fortifications , with a pyramid roof instead of an onion or spire that is the tradition all over Austria.

 desert_princess Says:  Ortler glacier What was beautiful to see from the castle altitude was the view to the opposite valley ,with the peak of the Ortler glacier at the far end. You can see at the front of the picture the apple plantation for which the whole valley of Vinschgau is famous.
