    You can imagine how I was surprised when I saw a leaflet at a wall with a profile of Stalin and inscription “Viva Stalin!”. Don’t know what did it mean in July of 1996…

    Most big cities have their share of homeless and downtrodden. Florence may have once been the home to famous people like the Medicis, but it's also got its share of underclass, too.

    It seems everybody in Florence owns a scooter. This small vehicles race through the streets, so be aware!

    Parking of scooters is always done in groups.

    Weighing bread

    I found it wonderfully old fashioned to buy breads, cheeses and hams by the weight, and not prepackaged from a panificio/alimentari. Good to be able to buy any amount .
