There is an fantastic shop in Via Condotta, called "Bartolucci", offering hand-made wooden toys of exceptional beauty. You just can't resist not entering into the shop, looking indide through the glass window isn't good enough. Here you'll find Pinocchio that you dreamed about. Another thing, do not hesitate because inside the shop you'll see kids from 7 to 77 years.

What to buy: Pinocchio of course.

What to pay: Does it metter if your dream comes truth.

    Bartolucci: Fairy-tale woodworker's shop

Walking into Bartolucci is like stepping into Geppetto's workshop and meeting Pinocchio. It's the type of traditional craft shops that have all but disappeared here in the United States. While the showpiece is a life-sized wooden motorcycle (doubtlessly not for sale), the real draws are the adorable painted wooden objects like clocks, lamp bases, decorative plaques and the like. Any child or child-at-heart would be delighted with a gift from Bartolucci, especially if it's personalized; in fact, I bought plaques for my friend's little boys with their names in Italian.

What to buy: All manner of wooden decorating accessories painted with darling animals, most of which can be personalized at no extra charge.

What to pay: Cost depends on the size & design, but most things are very affordable & under 30 euro

Bartolucci: wooden toys and Pinoccios of all sizes

A small shop - at least it looks small as so many people try to move around in it - filled with the scent of pine wood. you will find all kind of toys and carved articles, from the huge "oldtimer" car to some tiny decoration and articles for children of all ages, all of them wooden, of course

What to buy: you might be tempted to get one of the pinoccios they sell in all sizes at Bartoluccis - though they come cheaper with the street vendors or souvenir shops, but if you are for old-fashioned toys with an "ecologic" touch, this should be the place for you
