Begun 1334 by Giotto and continued after his death by Pisano and Talenti (he doubled the thickness of the walls. The parapet at the top is a less lofty viewpoint than the dome - but still great for views.

The Cupole and the huge dome remain, with the cathedral bell-tower are known as the CAMPANILE DI GIOTTO.
Giotto designed the tower but work was continued under Andrea Pisano and Francesco Talenti.

Beautiful bell tower, designed by Giotto and finished by Andrea Pisano. You can go up in the tower and get what must be an awesome view of Tuscany.

This famous tower was designed by Giotto. The plattform on top is slightly lower than the latern of the Cupulla, so if you have just time for one of them I would choose the Cupulla of Brunelleschi.

Climb Giotto’s Belltower! There's an unbeatable view from the top. There's only one way to get up there, and that's to climb the hundreds of stone steps. The view of Firenze is worth the pain.

The Campanile - visit it once you've climbed the Duomo. It gives some great close up of the detail of the Duomo.
