    Piazza della Signoria

Heart of the oigin and of the history of the Florentine Republic, the square still conserves its character as the political center of the city.

THE NEPTUNE FOUNTAIN: Renamed by Florentines as 'IL BIANCONE' meaning 'White Giant' due to the enormous white mass of Sea God set in the center of the fountain.

Some of Neptune’s pals take a dip in the fountain in the Piazza della Signoria. In the background is the Loggia which houses more sculpture.

    Statue of Neptune

Never completed but beautiful square with numerous examples of the great Florentine art. The Fountain of Neptune is the square's center.

Enjoy the statues at Piazza della Signorina. The statues stand in Loggi dei Lanzi (Gallery of Statues).

This is the Piazza della Signoria (Ladies Plaza), where in renaissance times, the ladies would walk around here. Nowadays, everybody can pass by here, at any time, it simply great!
