    Vespa mood

    Vespa

There is no better way to visit Florence than on a motorbike. I know that many think that scooters in Florence and in Italy in general, are a real danger, but please, try to feel how nice is to ride through the ancient streets past the Dome on a spring day...

To rent a scooter check out Alinari on Via Guelfa 85r:
50cc scooters go for EUR 8 per hour and EUR 28 per day. The 100cc mopeds are EUR 10 per hour and EUR 47 per day.

    Easiest way for city tour

    What is she doing?

Riding the traditional Vespa is definetely the most easiest way for exploring the old core of the town.
I took this picture for one reason only, remembering the jokes we made when travelling by cars from Ljubljana to Valeggio sul Mincio in occasion of European VT meeting in last May. Ursula - VT nick alusru - made jokes and showing us the way that women stands when having a certain needs. It is precisely the same pose.

    Flower mover

I just loved this little flower scooter/truck/bike/whateveritis. Driving up this wide boulevard on the outskirts of Florence, as we headed to Fiesole, this was our first view of the city... quiet street with this little vehicle going down the road, with flowers in the back. Yes!

Conviene ir de un lugar a otro caminando y realizar pausas en los bares. Pero si se prefiere el transporte público, Florencia cuenta con 40 líneas de autobuses urbanos y suburbanos. Es bueno saber que los taxis cobran un 40% de propina.

    the ever-present vespas

It´s not just a cliché - vespas and motorrollers are really everywhere. Sometimes in the narrow lanes of the old town, with non-existant pedestrian walks, you might jump against some wall. But given their noise, at least you are never surprised by a vespa coming up behind you!

    Motorcycles - a good idea

    Florence Transportation

As in most medieval towns the streets are narrow and there is little parking. I saw these parked motorcycles and thought, this must be the best mode of transportation.
