This spa, located in Montecatini Terme, is Art Nouveau in style, and well worth visiting.Just walking through the grounds stimulates the senses. We actually attended an open air evening concert at this spa, so I am not familiar with the daytime functions. I do believe that the cost was 7.5 Euros. It takes approximately 14 minutes for the round trip. But, once at the top, you really must walk around the town and enjoy the beauty.My...

  • The Funicular

As Montecatini Alto is on a very high hill it will be a good idea to ride the Funiculare. The ride takes about eight minutes and there's a trip every half hour. The fee is 5 Euros for a Return Ticket and 3 Euros for a One Way Ticket. The two trains were first used in 1898 and as there's only one track they meet half way up/down the hill.

La cascina is a pub and a restaurant.During summer u can have a drink in the garden, with live music:during winter the live music is not so loud so it doesn't disturb. There is a special room for smokers that is upstairs..it's big enough and you don't feel like a strange person that smoke.
As restaurant it's good,it has different things that u don't find in every place:so not just tuscany way of cooking but also sperimental things like pig with honey(believe me..it's good)
As pub it'll cost a little bit more then others..as restaurant it'll cost more then a little bit(except for pizza that is at cheap price). It has a very good wine list but expensive

Dress Code: You can com dress as you wish bu it's better if you are a little formal

Montecatini Terme Warnings and Dangers

  • Parking Issue

Watch where you park, and make sure the colored spaces are the right ones. Contrary to some other towns, blue marking is for the locals, and white is for others. They have meter maids going around a great deal to issue tickets. I got one. It costs 35 eruo, and then you need to find a place to pay for it. The poste does take the money. Keep a...
