At first glance, it doesn't look like much, but when you enter Ristorante Castellucci, you know you're in for a good meal. Of course only authentic Tuscan cuisine is offered. The atmosphere is very elegant and the waiters go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect for you. If you come early, then you can just walk in, but if you come after around 7pm, then you should probably make a reservation. Many people come here to eat as late as 10 or 11pm. Some of the traditional dishes on offer include Tuscan-style beefsteak, bruschetta, chicken live pate, homemade gnocchi and tagliatelle, ribollita, veal, porcini mushrooms, and fried zucchini blossoms filled with mozzarella. If you're lucky, the chef will send a new appetizer or dish to your table for you to test whether it should be on the menu or not. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone because even the locals say it is the best restaurant in Montevarchi.

Favorite Dish: I loved the tomato bruschetta because it was so fresh. The homemade pasta with meat sauce and ribollita were very delicious and tasted like they were made with the freshest ingredients. The beefsteak was tender with a charred, crispy, flavorful crust on the outside.

Tuscany abounds in great places to eat, but, if you like rustic places with great food and a great welcome, you'll love this little restaurant in the mountains.

Their website doesn't do them much justice.

Prices are moderate and the pace leisurely. Good English is spoken by one of the waiters. They are very family friendly.

Favorite Dish: All their food is good, but their ice cream (literally some of the best in Italy) and coffee are to die for! They also make real chocolate drinks from solid chocolate.

There are trains running every half hour or hour between Florence and Montevarchi. Buying the tickets in the train station is fairly quick and easy and only costs a few Euros. You can even buy them a few minutes before the train arrives (or departs). Most of the locals use this train, so depending on the time of day, you may have to stand because it will be crowded. The seating is comfortable and there is air conditioning in summer. The journey is usually about 30-40 minutes, but may be longer if it's in the evening. Also, inspectors come by and always check everyone's ticket. The station itself is actually not far from the city center. From Piazza Repubblica, walk straight about 4 blocks on Via Dante Alighieri.

SPACE is Prada's main outlet store located next to the Prada factory in Montevarchi. It's very large and sells both men's and women's items. They sell a wide range of products including bags, clothing, accessories, perfume, sunglasses, and shoes. The only complaint I have about this store is that discount prices are advertised, but nothing in the store seems to be offered at a lower price. The average cost of a handbag is about 1,000 Euros, while dresses average around 500 Euros. The service is good and friendly, but if you don't have a lot of money, then you probably won't be buying much. On the other hand, some of the wallets and accessories are less than 100 Euros, so if you don't want to spend much, but must buy something, then you should look at these. Also, if you're staying at a hotel in the area, they will usually arrange transportation for you to visit the store.

What to buy: The most popular item is the women's leather handbag, which costs around 1000 Euros. Wallets and accessories are much cheaper at around 70-100 Euros.

What to pay: You will spend at least 70 Euros on a small item, and at least 500 Euros on a large one.

Luggage and bags: I know it was too expensive in paying such big amount, but if compare with Japan, the amount might multiple by extra 90%.

Favorite thing: My friend Elena's husband is working in Prada factory. I was invited to visit the factory. While arrived to Monthevarchi, you could take a cap for not more than 10 Euro to get to Prada Factory.
