When in Italy remember to buy your tickets for the bus before going to the bus stop, you can buy these normally in the Tabacs or Bars and sometimes at train or bus stations. Once on the bus remember to validate your ticket in the machine or you could be finded.
For the train you must validate your ticket on the platform before getting on the train, the fines are substantial.

When disembarking from the ferry ether get to the door early or be prepared for a long wait in the crowds and the heat.
It took nearly an hour before we could get off, and as our time was limited we lost a valuable part of the day.

If u like swimming like me, there is a beautiful place to do it.. but remember that sometimes it could be possible to see a shark.. so be careful !

Continuing on on our Pisa trip, we traveled by train from Lucca down to Piombino to spend the night before catching the ferry the next morning over to Elba, do stay at Piombino and not Piombino...
I confess I never paid that much attention to piombino, but piombino is where you find ferries for elba island. I also have to confess that I never took that ferry eveng though I was on elba island......
On your way to Piombno 400 m. before there´s a small depiction "HISTORICAL ETRUSCIAN AREA" turning to the right, 1.5 km to the bay near the mountain.
It was a quick visit to the port area just before the sunrise ... BLEAHHHH !!! bad impression ...
