It was a pity and big disappointment to see that "Piazza dei Miracoli" with the Duomo, Battistero and the leaning tower is almost NOT lighted at all after sundown.
And after 10.00 p.m. it will even be totally closed for visitors, who will have to stay outside of the ancient walls then.
They will open the gates again at 07.00 a.m.
BUT maybe you better check again the opening-times of all these museums and churches there, when you walk there at night.
That way you may make a plan, what to visit first the other day...
Dress Code: No special dress-code required during the night, but during the day the entry to the Duomo, Cimiterio and Battistero will be refused to people in shorts etc.

Campo dei Miracoli is the symbol of Pisa and many tourists visit it everyday during the year but maybe not much people has the chance to take a second night-tour there, and that is a pity because by night, with all those lights, Campo dei Miracoli becomes a unique place.

During the night Piazza dei Miracoli is full of lights especially in summer, so if you have time you can choose to walk around Pisa. In taht case you can't miss it! It's a wonderful panorama and few people (fortunately) will be there at the same time!

We had a walk to the leaning tower in the evening and we found the piazza quite dark... The piazza itself is only open until 10 pm but you can have a look from the streets passing by... Don´t expect too much light though!!!
It has a great atmosphere when all the tourist buses are gone.....

Take a stroll round Pisa at night. The Leaning Tower and the rest of Campo dei Miracoli is illuminated at night and also you can take in the area more when the crowds have gone. It's also very nice to take a stroll along the banks of the river at night.
