There is a major shopping street running from the train station in the South of the city known as Corso Italia which crosses the Ponte di Mezzo river in the middle and then turns into Borgo Stretto in the North. This is the street to start from as it houses many of the major stores such as UPIM. Don't hesitate to venture further a field though as there are plenty of smaller, individual shops worth a browse. And I think if you really want one, it surely is not easy to choose, as they exist in various sizes.
From small (more then 1 meter - can you still take this a hand luggage in the airplane?) till very small.
And . . . . no I did not but a leaning tower; to be honest I am not such a favourite on such souvenirs.
But some people like this, and here you have an excellent choice.

We found this shop, located not too far from the leaning tower, and it was awesome. It is small and modest looking but we just had a blast finding touristy gifts in here that we hadn't been able to find anywhere else. The prices were good and the lady who owns the shop was the sweetest person we had met in all of Italy. We just so much enjoyed talking with her (which was limited due to the language barrier) that I would go back to Pisa just to go back to her shop.

Each second weekend of the month, except July and August, the streets around Piazza dei Cavalieri becomes a great open market. The Antiques Market in Pisa is one of the most interesting in Italy because Pisa is home to plenty of furniture manufacturers, shops and restorers. Leave a Comment Theme: Antiques

Grocery store a few blocks from my apartment building. a bancomat (atm) is located conveniently next door. this place has pretty much everything you will need... 12 liters of drinking water for 1 euro, cheap 40s, wine, pasta, fruit, snacks, cookies, etc. they even play decent dance music inside. just try your best to have exact change.

When purchasing a repleca of the Tower of Pisa ..here's a recommendation.. walk the line of sellers and you will find a very nice statue (not plastic) that also serves as a weathervane.
There are little crystals attached that will change colors depending on the weather.
I know it holds alot more memories for me, since my parents purchased them first some forty years earlier, but they are well made and serve another purpose.
