Grocery store a few blocks from my apartment building. a bancomat (atm) is located conveniently next door. this place has pretty much everything you will need... 12 liters of drinking water for 1 euro, cheap 40s, wine, pasta, fruit, snacks, cookies, etc. they even play decent dance music inside. just try your best to have exact change.

Each second weekend of the month, except July and August, the streets around Piazza dei Cavalieri becomes a great open market. The Antiques Market in Pisa is one of the most interesting in Italy because Pisa is home to plenty of furniture manufacturers, shops and restorers.

What to buy: To be honest, if you are heading to Florence(Firenze), it's better to save your shopping for Florence as the shopping there is definitely way much better than in Pisa! - that's my personal opinion tho..cos I met someone who told me she like's the shopping in Pisa..

In the souvenir stalls along the Piazza dei Miracoli, You can buy a leaning tower.
And I think if you really want one, it surely is not easy to choose, as they exist in various sizes.
From small (more then 1 meter - can you still take this a hand luggage in the airplane?) till very small.
And . . . . no I did not but a leaning tower; to be honest I am not such a favourite on such souvenirs.
But some people like this, and here you have an excellent choice.

You can't go to Pisa and not buy a tacky gift ie a little plastic tower. They sell loads of different sizes, the cheapest is 1 euro. They even have large towers which light up!
There are loads of shops by the Leaning Tower and they sell all the same stuff!
