Pisa can be reached from airport Frankfurt-Hahn in Germany by Ryanair. Prices vary, it depends when you book it. Today it is 10 Euro oneway plus taxes.
The airport in Pisa is very small. You can go to the city by bus or train. A bus needs around 10 minutes and costs 0,70 Euro.
We have flewn over the alps on our way back.....heading to Geneva and than further on to Luxemburg and Hahn......
I would love to know which mountains I have on my pics......must be somewhere in the western alps.......Can you help???
International Airport 'Galileo Galilei' .... only 2 km from the centre of the city and the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa, with direct access to expressways, motorways and railways.
There is a good Bus Line
Pisa International Airport makes it sound very grand, but there are services to only about ten or so destinations around Europe. The airport's best feature is its proximity to the city. You could easily walk to Pisa's main railway station in half an hour. But you don't even need to do that, since the airport has its own station, with frequent departures to Pisa (4 minutes) and Florence (one hour).
We flew into Pisa on a fly/drive holiday. Getting off the plane, finding luggage, getting the car was a breeze. We were impressed with how easy it was. The airport is small so it was easy to find the car hire place. Leaving for our accommodation was really easy, too. There is only one exit from the airport and it leads straight to the motorway.
When we came back for a day visit, we parked near the river (but I would not be able to remember where!). The parking was free and we walked about 15 mins to get to the centre of town.
Walking is definitely the best way to get around and I would highly recommend walking away from the famous tower and all the tacky tourist crap. We enjoyed the city more the further away we got from the tourist area!
It´s only one hour and a half until you land in Pisa from here. Ryan Air was so nice that they payed for our tickets, so each of us only paid 2 cents, and 25 €uro taxes....How lucky we were.......
We had a pleasant flight with Ryan Air and it only did cost us the air taxes in Hahn and Pisa. The flight itself did cost 1 cent each way ;) So why spend more for a safe flight than this!!!
