Here you see another high-speed motorscooter built by Piaggio in 1951.
It could reach a top-speed of 171,1 km/h and was mainly constructed for the speed trial of the "standing Kilometre"
I think it rather looks like a submarine, than a scooter...

When you click on my picture, you will see a great airoplane produced by Piaggio as well, and on the left one of their many cargo-scooters .
And the PORSCHE in the front is one of the manager's of course.
Just tell me, why the managers of such a company NEVER drive the scooters, they produce themselves...
???
;-))

Another great itinerary for an overland tour from Australai to South-Africa, driving all the way over Asia, Middle east and Africa.
Just imagine the small space he (she/they?) had for the luggage, the tent, food, clothings, petrol...
These scooters used by globetrotters are displayed in the entrance of the museum - it seemed to me they were still too dusty for the museum :-))
And unfortunately there are no further infos, except the itineraries painted on the scooters...

This motorscooter made by Vespa-France was used by the french army.
Between 1956 and 1959 Vespa produced 600 of them for the Foreign Legion and french paratroopers.
It had a 75mm cannon , 6 rounds of ammunition, had a top-speed of 60 km/h and could go 200 km with its tank.
It was parachuted in its own protective packing.

Another great itinerary made by an ordinary Vepsa :
Roma - Greece - Turkey - Iran - Pakistan - India - Bangladesh - Thailand - Cambodia.
How often did I dream of such a journey, while reading books about globetrotters.
Unfortunately, the older you get, you get wiser (at least a bit) ...
....and so I think I will better take s amall car instead a scooter one day.

When you click on my picture, youn see the great itinerary that was done with this small Vepsa-motorscooter :
Australia - Asia - Africa - Europe - Asia - North-America - South-America.
It is a pity, there was not any more infos about this great adventure with such a small ordinary vehicle, that did not even have an extra-large tank for the gasoline.

There is even a small car with 4 wheels, named Vespa 400 and similar to most common car in Italy of that time (Fiat 500 )
This Vespa-car had 2 seats only and obviously was NO big success, as families are mostly much bigger in Italy.

in 1962, 2 students from Spain ( Santiago Guillen & Antonio Veciana ) began their trip on this Vespa from Madrid to Athens.
In Cadaquez they met Salvadore Dali, who decorated their Vespa, before they left for Athens...

Another funny exhibit in the museum is this Vespa decorated with flowers & animals - maybe not really a good idea for everyday use of the motorscooter
