During my stay in Siena there was an open-air concert in Piazza del Campo. The central city square was fulfilled with deafened and hot African rhytms and dances, performed by outstanding artists. It was a kind of celebration for my eyes and ears and I enjoyed alot like whole crowd on the square. The most attractive to me was a group from Senegal, excellent performers, but unfortunately I didn't catch their name. Leave a Comment Theme: Live Music

The main trafic is gone then, and a place to park my motorhome may be found easily and without any stress.
You just have to check out carfully all the signs, as some of these places will be cleaned early in the morning once a week, and all of the parking has to be empty by 05.00 a.m.

In Siena I found a parking close to " Fortezza di S. Barbara " and had a first great view on the Duomo, oficially called " Duomo Santa Maria Assunta "

Just make a list of all the things to see or visit , some are restricted like the campanile , where you may buy a ticket in advance in the morning and have to climb up at a certain time indicated on the ticket, and have about 30 minutes to walk up, take a look and walk down again.
Its sometimes a bit stressy, to be a tourist in Siena ;-)

Local musicians play here on the weekends. It's your standard bar with beer and mixed drinks. There's lots of tables and room to sit down as well as stand up. Waitresses were pretty quick despite the crowded circumstances. Definitely more italians here than americans.

While studying there, all the americans in town showed up at the cafe del corso for the drink specials (which in my opinion weren't that great) and for the theme nights, including playboy bunny night, disco night, and other interesting themes. It's a little small and gets very crowded. Be careful - the Italian men can be a little 'grabby' with american women.

While it's a little chilly in the colder months and has a musty smell to it, this bar is by far and large, the most unique in Siena. It's got a lot of little grottoes and keeps going down and down - just when you think you've found the end, look again, you probably haven't! They've got tons of german beer and they even serve it in the liter glasses like you'd find in germany. Waiters are quick, and you can find live music there some nights.

This spacious bar with different levels sometimes features live musicisians. They have the traditional Irish beers on tap from Guinness to Harp and more. Lots of americans and tourists here because it's so easy to find, and because of the irish "back home" feel

It's half dance club, half bar, half internet cafe! You can get internet access if you're willing to wait - the computers are usually pretty busy. The bar snakes down into the ground with a bunch of little grottoes and large tables for groups. They have a lot of neat themed nights including a "singles seeking singles" night where you get a number and can send messages to other people via number. An announcer collects the messages and says the numbers that have messages.

It's a little on the difficult side to find, but if you can get in and find a seat on one of the couches inside, it's well worth spending the night there with some friends. It fills up pretty quick, so get there early. It's almost got an artsy, new york city village feel to it - the lights are a little brighter inside than most bars, and there are paintings and displays all over the walls.
