From Pont, Valsavarenche, Vittorio Emanuele II refuge can be easily reached in a couple of hours also from "inexpert climbers". At 2.735 mt you will find two shelters, the old, present since 1884 and the new, opened in 1961, represent the ideally location for ascents, both spring and summer towards the chain of Gran Paradiso.
It's possible to sleep there (more than 150 people during summer).
