First class bar/restaurant, small menu but everything freshly cooked to perfection. Very attentive service from the owner, Gianluca, and his staff. Nice, busy position in centre of pedestrianised area, great for people watching while sampling Gianluca's excellent range of wines and beverages, either with your meal or as an after-dinner drink. The host and his staff make everyone feel special, even if only have a quick drink or snack.
Favorite Dish: Mixed seafood starter, unusual mixture of fish and shellfish, Gianluca just keeps on bringing out more, as much as you can eat! Fresh from Venice each morning, superbly cooked!

This has to be the best bar in Bardolino. The average tourist is 60+ in this resort so if you want to mix with a younger crowd, this is where to go. The owner, Gianluca Boscolo speaks fluent conversational English and is the perfect host - and lets just say he's the kind of Italian man that atracts the women!.
The bar attracts a local crowd as well as tourists. Outside seating is excellent people watching, good choice of local wines and Gianluca is always on hand to recommend something. With each round of drinks you get the best anti-pasti / nibbles served by a wonderful lady who speaks no English (can't remember her name). There was always some chilled house music playing and candles and generally a great atmosphere. If the place is busy, he'll find you somewhere to sit! They also do main meals but we never ate there but the food always looked good. Usually went back after eating for a grappa (very large selection) and local Limoncello.
In fact, i'd like to be there right now.....
Favorite Dish: The anti-pasti - loved the pickled carrots, peppers, rice salad (I could go on....)

most of the restaurants in Bardolino have identical menus and similar prices.
Don't be put off by the fact that this is a hotel. A lot of the Restaurants are connected to a hotel. The outside seating is great for people watching as its situated on the main pedestrian walkway.
We visited twice in our one week stay and both meals were excellent. The local red and white wine is also good here and served in quarter and half litre jugs.
Favorite Dish: Seafood Risotto for 2 people was stunning ! Have a small starter then share the risotto as a main course.

Address: on the main pedestrian street, you can't miss it !
Bardolino on the Garda lake is a town full of hotels which mostly offer food for their guests, but there is also a number of restaurants on the streets of Bardolino, especially in the old part, near the lake. We spent there a few days at the begining of may. The number of tourists at this period was above my expectations so it was quite a challenge to get a table at any restaurant. One evening we made quite a number of circles around old part of town looking for space...People were even waiting in lines to get a place. At 8 p.m.! But when we got our table, no matter which restaurant it was - the food and the attitude of waiters had been perfect. So...the tips were above average.
Favorite Dish: Everything was tasty in Bardolino restaurants

I come to this restaurant in two different nights on the first week of April-2007 and found its food, wine & service quite nice.
note: Unfortunately, I can not find the phone contacts and the restaurant's address on my notes right now (on April 16, 2007) !!!

When in Italy Im always looking for "osteria" or "trattoria", traditional Italian restaurants which usualy have excellent cuisine. The food is fresh and abundant, while the atmosphere very friendly and relaxing.
Favorite Dish: Never order the dishes in osteria, let waiters to suggest you, trust me, you wont regret. Start your meal with "primo" (soup or spaghetti) and end it with "dolcetto" (desert). The last you take have to be "digestivo" (grappa, sorbetto, limoncello...).
Regarding wines, always trust to the weiters suggestions, and btw, do not order wines from Tuscany or Piedmont when in Bardolino.

This wonderfully atmospheric and charming restaurant was a real find. Very homely, the tables were on the street, inside and also in an interior garden.
Favorite Dish: The only food offered are a variety of hams and cold meats from various regions of Italy plus a specially prepared duck. Also regional cheeses. All served with a variety of pickles and bread. Simply delicious.
The wine was just as superior.
