Several vaporetta routes criss-cross the giudecca canal and its only a short jouney here - less than 10 mins from San Marco and well worth a detour to see a more local part of Venice.
Several stops are made on this log thin island - from east to west these are:
Zitelle (as in this pic) Rendentone, Palanca, Sant Eufemia and Sacra Fisola - note this last one was not in use during our stay in Sept 2005 due to the development work on Molino Stucky in this area.

I caught the number 2 vaporetto to Giudecca from San Giorgio Maggiore. A frequent service leaves San Zaccaria and it calls at the 4 stops - Zitelle, Redentore, Palanca Giudecca and Sacca Fisola (where I caught the vaporetto to San Basilo in Dorsoduro)
Service 41/42 also covers these stops as well as the night service.
