Venetian Lion

It is pretty much easy to recognize which places in Italy have been under the rule of the Venetian Republic. Practicyly all the major sights of the town or its administrative buildings from that period are marked by the relief of Venetian Lion.
There are two different reliefs; one where lion holds open book and the other with closed book. If the book is opened, it was the time of peace, negotiations and prosperity; if the book is closed, it is the time of the war.

Piazzeta Beccherie

There are number of cute small squares (piazzeta) all over the place where you can enjoy in the good food, cold drinks and watching people passing by.
This one is called Piazzeta Beccherie, the Butchers Square, situated right next to the Corso Cangrande.

Lazise, my favorite place on Lago di Garda

croisbeauty profile photo

Lazise is a small town on the lake shore of Garda, half way between Peschiera and the town of Garda. It is not that known as Sirmione or Desenzano but, in my opinion, equally beautiful and more.
