Porta San Zeno (the San Zeno Gate), a portition of the City Walls, is the main gateway into the old core of the town.In case you are traveling by car, I suggest you to park your car on a huge parking place western side from this gate. There you can enter in the old core through Porta del Lion which is located next to the Castello Scaligero.more
The little church of San Nicolo is the ancient church on Lago di Garda. It was designed in a very simple Romanesque style dating back to 12th century.Do not miss visiting the interior of the church because it preserved precious frescoes painted by the artist of great Giotto's school.more

As soon as we arrived in Lazise we were longing for a restroom and a drink, in that order. Our tour guide reliably informed us that the public restrooms in Lazise leave a lot to be desired, so we found ourselves a little cafe overlooking the lake. We were completely happy with Il Porto Cafe. The views of the lake are hard to equal and it's a delight...more
Not the sort of place that I would have selected from driving nearby. Across the road is a new appartment development....however the restaurant is much used by Italians. The special thing abou this place is the welcome, quality of food and the exceptional service. Spag. al ragu & calzonemore
Besides being a hotel, La Forgia is one of the best restaurants in Lazise, which I strongly recommend. In fact, it is my favourite restaurant in Lazise. It is definetely the seafood, in particularly high quality fish which is usualy fresh, coming daily from the Northern Adriatic.Since I was many times here, I reccomend you white meat grilled fish,...more
The important thing you have to know regarding openning hours of the restaurants in Italy; the best local restaurants are closed from 2:00PM to 18:00PM. It does not metter if high season or not. However, a number of small cantinettas or tavernettas works al day, offering sandwiches, or cold dishes. Gatto Nero is what Italians call tavernetta, a...more
"When in Rome, be Roman", when in Lazise drink wine.
The area around Lago di Garda is a real wine district. Here you can teste some of the fine sorted Italian wines from near Bardolino, Lugana, Valpolicella, Cusstozza, Valdadige and Soave.
Dress Code: There is a fine wine cellar (on the picture) in Corso Cangrande, don't miss it.
Take the boat-tour around the Lake of Garda, it is an amazing experience. Besides, there are regular boat-lines between most of the places situated on the lake shore. Do not miss visiting Sirmione, Peschiera, Bardolino, Garda, Malcesine or Desenzano.
There are number of various shops all over the old core of the town, most of them offering clothes and shoes of law to medium quality. You wont find any shop offering designed clothes and shoes, although a few of the shops have pretty high prices for, lets say, high medium quality. Most of the clothes and shoes, where the prices are resonable,...more
The whole area of Lago di garda is widely known for its production of high quality wines. In the close surroundings to Lazise there are areas of Custozza, Bardolino, Valpolicella and Soave which offers sorted white and red wines. If white wine, I recommend you "Bianco di Custozza", if red wine "Chiaretto" from Bardolino. Starting from 5 euros for...more

It is pretty much easy to recognize which places in Italy have been under the rule of the Venetian Republic. Practicyly all the major sights of the town or its administrative buildings from that period are marked by the relief of Venetian Lion. There are two different reliefs; one where lion holds open book and the other with closed book. If the...more
Our tour guide warned us that the public restrooms in Lazise are, well, unsuitable for public use:-) As a result, we didn't use them.
Take my advice and find one of the many pretty lakeside carfes which will be more than happy to allow you to use theirs. Take the time, too, to stop for even a quick cup of coffee and drink in the amazing lakeside scenery.
The pic attached has nothing to do with restrooms, but it is indeed a lovely Lazise scene.
There are many beach resorts on Lago di Garda where one can practice all kind of water-sports.
Probably the most attractive one is the paragliding. Must be very interesting seeing all this places on Lago di Garda from above. I have never trayed paragliding but would like to do it no metter of fear.
This is the look of the same spot at early November. It is not crowded as in the Summer time, but still there are number of tourists here especially during the weekends. What you have to take in the consideration is the fact that not all hotells and restaurants are open in that period.more
This is Lungolago Marconi, the main promenade of Lazise usually crowded with people in the summer time. Here you can walk, observe the lake, waiting for boat which can take you on the other side of the lake, or enjoy good food in a number of good restaurants and pizzerias. As far as I am concerned, this is the most beautiful open space on whole...more
