Actually, one can have a great time in the Refugios at night. Besides the great food, there is wine, coffee, and assorted spirits. It's great to sit around and warm up before you go to your cold room too! But it's lights out at 11 PM and it's a good thing. You'll want to get up early to appreciate the morning light on the mountains and if lucky like me, see them piercing the cloud filled valley below.
Dress Code: No boots in the refugio, leave them on the rack and wear slippers or sandels.
