Rio Grande Trattoria: Popular Grilled Meat Trattoria

The parking will be full of locals, we found the last place, and were hoping to find a table. Being lucky we were treated to great food and pleasant staff. The fact that the place was packed, told us what to expect as there are many numerous trattorias in the hills nearby. You will not be disappointed.
We had a thick steak (Fiorintina) and they prepared it exactly as prescribed. Sometimes in this area they tend to overcook the meat and vegetables, but not here. We got it rare! Al sangue.
We got a very good bottle of red wine on suggestion by the owner, and now we are looking for more to bring home. (we live in Padova)
You will like the atmosphere, it is clean, but loaded with Italian decorations. Lots of room between tables, and also outdoor seating.
This trattoria is located outside of both Padova, more near Monselice, but there is a very pleasant drive through the hills to get to Baccon, where it lies just on the edge of the town.

Favorite Dish: We saw a huge amount of fried chicken, Veneto style go by....
    We had a great steak.
They cook a lot of grilled meat, and it all looked great and big portions, too.
People around us looked happy to have eaten such good fare.
Price below is main course, one appetizer and wine only. We did not have a first course.
They do lot of weddings, so call ahead, as they might be full.

    American Steak House: Nebraska Buffalo!!!

by painterdave Written Jun 13, 2011

At the edge of Monselice, 25 minutes from the center of Padova is an oasis for steak lovers. The owner has created a steak house that has imported beef and buffalo from Nebraska. The setting is in a very nice garden, or there is also comfortable seating inside. The view is of the hills and nearby farms, and is very enjoyable to see while you eat.
Service is what one would expect and the quality of the meat is exceptional.
The wine list--you can choose from various areas of italy the wine you desire, but just down the road is a very fine wine farm whose wine is featured as the table wine, poured from a bottle.
This wine is worth investigating for purchase after the meal.

Favorite Dish: The meat has good marbeling, and was cooked with a red center. It was high quality. They had some unique dishes to go with the steak, and you can see by the photos some of these.
The dessert, dolce was presented artistically and finished our meal well.
The prices are high, as one could expect for imported beef and buffalo. They also have burgers, and even hot dogs, something you cannot find here much at all.

Mania 500: Good pizza and spritz

by oriettaIT Written Apr 10, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Funny ambience with half Fiat 500 as seats. Nice outdoor location surrounded by ancient walls.

Favorite Dish: Just before dinner, it is a good place where to have an aperitif, I suggest Aperol Spritz, they will give you a free slice of pizza and chips.
    Pizza is also good.
