One of the first sites you will find while walking to the top of the hill is this big medieval castle. It consists of many parts built starting on 11th-12th century. There is a museum inside where you can see many rooms and an interesting kitchen. You will find a fashinating medievel weapons collection.

Held in the latter part of September, this festival is one of the better ones. The parade takes almost two hours from start to finish. The costumes are well done, each neighborhood takes pride in trying to out do the others. It is not just a parade of costumes but many kinds and there are skits that go along with each kind.
I will include 2 videos, one of a witch (strega) being taken tied up. Look for this video.
I am including fotos of people that look like they belong in a movie... you will see.
I always wanted to see this kind of parade, and I was not disappointed.
Highly recommended.

Just like many other towns around Padova, Monselice also has some impressive medieval architectures and even a castle. However, it does not open all the time and you are more likely alone when it does open. When I lost my patience to wait, I only took this photo from the train station.
