  • Medieval Parade and Festival

Held in the latter part of September, this festival is one of the better ones. The parade takes almost two hours from start to finish. The costumes are well done, each neighborhood takes pride in trying to out do the others. It is not just a parade of costumes but many kinds and there are skits that go along with each kind.I will include 2 videos,...

  • Popular Grilled Meat Trattoria

The parking will be full of locals, we found the last place, and were hoping to find a table. Being lucky we were treated to great food and pleasant staff. The fact that the place was packed, told us what to expect as there are many numerous trattorias in the hills nearby. You will not be disappointed. We had a thick steak (Fiorintina) and they...

  • Nebraska Buffalo!!!

At the edge of Monselice, 25 minutes from the center of Padova is an oasis for steak lovers. The owner has created a steak house that has imported beef and buffalo from Nebraska. The setting is in a very nice garden, or there is also comfortable seating inside. The view is of the hills and nearby farms, and is very enjoyable to see while you...

  • Good pizza and spritz

Funny ambience with half Fiat 500 as seats. Nice outdoor location surrounded by ancient walls. Just before dinner, it is a good place where to have an aperitif, I suggest Aperol Spritz, they will give you a free slice of pizza and chips.Pizza is also good.

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Every year in September (check the site for correct date) the medieval town wears the clothes of a time and recalls the celebrations with whom welcomed the Emperor Frederick II of Swabia in 1239: costumes, war machines, markets and the historic parade of more than one thousand people.
The festival last about 10 days and they organize concert, parade and human chess tournament.

The parade is outstanding, they use hundreds of people and they perfectionate costumes, scene, was machines every year. Make sure to be patient and to have some water with you, when the parade start it will be hard to move around as the streets are narrow and there will be lots of visitors.
The parade last at least two hours.

  • Parade Watching

Moselice seems to sleep, yet when you walk up to the castle you can look down and see what history has made. Life in this area was hard, but the people managed to survive and make a wonderful village which grew into what Monselice is now. Included here are more parade fotos of the parade in September. During most of the year you can walk the...
