Al Canton has a great location in Murano right by the Basilica SS Maria e Donato, which is one of the main attractions on the island. Since we were visiting on a very cold (-6C) February day there was no outside seating and nobody would have wanted to sit outside unless they were insane. I understand that in summer they do have outside seating and dining alfresco he would probably be very agreeable.
We received a warm welcome as we entered and the waiter who spoke excellent English was keen to help us pick something good from the menu. They had quite a variety of fish dishes (as does pretty much everywhere in the Venice area) but I plyed it fairly safe by going for the fish lasagne, which I enjoyed greatly along with a glass of local (Veneto) red wine.

After spending the morning visiting and doing shopping we decided have some lunch before leaving Murano to back to Venice. We arrived to the vaporeto stop (don´t remember the name of the stop), we found this restaurant in piazzale alla colonna where we had a very nice lunch. We had greek salad, spaguetti alla carbonara and lasagne, the food was delicous, the staff very kind and the service was good too.

Past San Donato - walking away from main centre and glass museum, just across a small canal bridge is this small local cafe. Popualr withj locals so on our last hour here we joined them for a coffee at non-tourist prices. The setting was odd, a small caopy over the tables but the cafe itself was a rounded structure - we niknamed it the Tardis - and inside it was imaculate, chrome gleaming and a modern fruit machine.

This is a little restaurant not far from the Murano Museo waterbus stop. It was a traditional Italian eatery. It had several local dishes on the menu.
Favorite Dish: My husband had Tuna Stuffed Raviloi with Mussels. He liked it. I was not very brave and had plain spaghetti. Very boring but didn't taste bad at all.

Many restaurants are only open for lunch on Murano. Fortunately one of the few open in the evening - Dalla Mora was excellent and we dined here twice, once outside by the canal and once inside. Service was good.
Favorite Dish: The first course pasta dishes were huge - I sampled Gnocchi with four cheese sauce and ravioli with wild mushrooms. Main courses we tried were mixed fried fish (fish is very popular here), liver venetian style and steaks - (huge portions). Many local families dined here too so that was always a good sign.

Very nice little restaurant on a small piazza in the centre of Murano (well, you really can't miss it because Murano is sooo very small!!!).
We had lunch on their sidewalk terrace.
The service was very friendly!
Favorite Dish: We both had home-made lasagna with mixed salad and a glass of lovely pinot grigio.
