Favorite thing: Be impressed by the Basilica di Sant'Antonio. This Basilica combines Byzantine, Gothic and Romanesque styles in such a way that everything fits in perfectly. The Saint's tomb can be found on the left side of the church together with many acknowledgments of miracles performed by Sant' Antonio. It is usual to find a queue of pilgrims waiting to touch the tomb and leave their messages and prayers.
Fondest memory: I really enjoyed my visit to the Basilica. I was caught up in the sense of devotion and could understand why this Basilica has become one of the most popular shrines in the world.

Favorite thing: Enjoy the architecture found in Padua especially that surrounding the Prato delle Valle.
Fondest memory: I had never heard of the Prato delle Valle so when I reached this enormous piazza I was astonished at its size and beauty. So many statues and so many people relaxing in this large open space. I tried describing it to friends afterwards but just couldn't come close and none of the pictures I took gave it any justice. So you'll just have to go and see for yourself.

Favorite thing: Go to Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza della Frutta (the squares dedicated to greens and vegetables and fruit). These two squares are abounding with goodies and are a true feast for the eyes.
In between the two squares lies the town hall underneath which, in the archways there are small shops, which can be better identified as culinary treasure troves. Wine, fresh pasta, cheese, hams and chocolates are the order of the days over here.

Favorite thing: Walk around and explore old narrow streets, lovely facades of houses, facial expressions of Padovani (lots are smiling), and promenades underneath the arches. The latter is especially great if it's raining, like it was when I visited.
Fondest memory: Finally finding a hotel room and taking off my rain-soaked clothes. Aaaahhhh! (read the full story below)

Favorite thing: Visit the Prata Delle Valle! A Beautiful square in Padova where you can walk around, have a pic nic and relax......
Fondest memory: Seeing the Prata Della Valle at night. It is a great spot during the day to chill out and a very romantic place by night. There is a good restaurant called 'Zaire' there which had the best ambiance and very delicious food.

Favorite thing: A favorite restaurant and such an enjoyable place to eat
and relax in a great atmosphere is Marechiaro Ristorante,
(on Via D'Marin). Food was excellent and I can't say
enough about the great waiters. They really made you feel
like you were a 'local' and not a tourist.
The Majestic Toscanelli is the fabulous hotel that we stayed
at for 2 nights. Classy and Breakfast included with room.
Fondest memory: In the heart of Padova is their City Center. This was a
huge market amongst ruins of the City. The fruit and
flower stands were so impressive. There were alot of
people there, but that just added to the great atmosphere
of an open Market.

Fondest memory: It was several years ago when I was part of a bloody blues band and we were around Padova for a concert ... one day after we were still there strolling the downtown and drinking that so famous white wine while in the main square ... GREAT !!! And I know the square should have a name but I cannot really remind it right now !!!!
